CURRENT MINING PROJECTS
YOGANUP REHABILITATION EARTHWORKS

CLIENT: ILUKA RESOURCES

Remediation works to part of the Yoganup Extended mine will be undertaken using a fleet of dozers, trucks, an excavator and tractor scoop. This includes earthworks associated with returning pasture to areas disturbed by mining activities such as site roads, laydown areas, open pits, stockpiles and tailing dams.

TUTUNUP SOUTH REHABILITATION

CLIENT: ILUKA RESOURCES

With mining services concluding at Tutunup South Mineral Sands in early 2018, INDUS will rehabilitate the mine. Works include backfilling all pits, soil profiling all disturbed areas, cleaning and rehabilitating 14 slime dams and reinstating sensitive wetlands. Approximately 3 million cubic metres of material will be returned and profiled to within 30 millimetres by GPS-guided plant in addition to re-establishing native forest and pasture, and reinstating aquifers.

CAPEL DAM HDPE RELINE

CLIENT: ILUKA RESOURCES

The first component of work involves excavating and relining a 3,500 cubic metre acid effluent dam and a 25,000 square metre iron oxide dam. Associated works include constructing surrounding roadways, fencing, new pipe launders, poly pipe welding and installing concrete traffic barriers. A new 80,000 cubic metre inert waste pit will be excavated and formed using excavators, trucks and scrapers – comprising the second part of the project.

Big Brook Dam Remedial Works

Kanowna Belle Tailings Storage Facility

CURRENT CIVIL PROJECTS
ONSLOW ROAD UPGRADE

CLIENT: MAIN ROADS WA

The project involves a 210mm structural overlay of the Onslow Road, sub-base and sub-grade repairs where required, upgrade of the North West Coastal Highway Intersection and culvert replacement/extensions where required.

MILING BYPASS

CLIENT: MAIN ROADS WA

The Miling Bypass project is a road construction project to build a bypass road to the town of Miling, approximately 220km North East of Perth.

JUNDEE TAILINGS STORAGE FACILITY

CLIENT: NORTHERN STAR RESOURCES LIMITED

The project involved the raising of TSF #1 and TSF #2. This involves bulk earthworks to raise the perimeter embankments using compacted mine waste which will be sourced from stock piles up to 4.1km away. Other works include the raising of the decant access way on both TSF and the raising of the existing decant structures.

BIG BROOK DAM REMEDIAL WORKS

CLIENT: WATER CORPORATION

Big Brook Dam consists of a central concrete gravity overflow section, with earthfill embankments on the left and right abut- ments. Ongoing surveillance of the dam has identified several issues relating to the performance of the earthfill embankments, with respect to seepage, piping and slope stability. Water Cor- poration required the services of Indus for corrective remedial works.

KANOWNA BELLE TAILINGS STORAGE FACILITY

CLIENT: NORTHERN STAR RESOURCES LIMITED

The project covered the construction of the starter embankments, decant access causeways, decant structures, under drainage and associated infrastructure for a tailings storage facility located at Kanowna Belle Gold mine.
